Kit•New York, NY
•$3,000 - $5,000•Remote

About The Position

Kit is hiring a part-time contract Video Editor and videographer to support its content team as it produces creator interviews, webinars, product demos, and organic social video. The role works directly from raw footage and briefs, prioritizing short-form editing while also handling longer editorial pieces. The editor will collaborate with content marketers, the Growth marketing lead, and the in-house Brand team, and will report to Cait Miller, Team Lead, Content Marketing. The work includes filming original Kit content in studios, on sets, and at in-person events, as well as editing organic social videos, paid-ad cutdowns, creator interviews, case studies, product tutorials, webinars, and mini-course lessons. Kit is a fully remote organization, but some deliverables require on-location support, primarily in New York City, and candidates in the NYC area are preferred. This is a six-month contract for 25 hours per month, with the possibility of extension. Compensation is a monthly retainer of $3,000–$5,000 based on experience.

Requirements

  • Strong command of professional filming and editing tools; Adobe Premiere Pro is preferred.

  • At least 4 years editing social-first video content, ideally for a brand, creator, or agency.
  • Experience editing both short-form content (Reels, TikTok, or Shorts) and longer-form content (YouTube, webinars, or interviews).
  • Hands-on experience with recorded interviews, webinars, or talking-head footage.
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to make rough ideas or raw footage engaging without relying on clickbait.
  • Ability to take feedback, work without heavy oversight once familiar with the brand, and juggle multiple short- and long-form projects.

  • Willingness to work across short- and long-form formats.
