About The Position

As a key part of the Learfield Studios team at Missouri, the Video Editor creates content-driven storytelling in partnership with the school’s athletic program and the central Learfield production group. Collaborating closely with our offsite Director of Post Production and Director of Content, as well as the on-campus Supervising Producer, this role is responsible for transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content for multiple platforms into 7–10 series annually, plus additional social-optimized cutdowns and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of work experience in the sports or entertainment industry focused on creating, producing and editing video content.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to convert long-form content into short-form and social-ready versions, including burnt-in subtitles.
  • Strong sports and/or entertainment background.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to conceptualize and create basic graphics.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and seamlessly picking up in-progress projects from teammates.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to maintain standardized project, media, and workflow structures.
  • Receptive to feedback and able to make thoughtful revisions.
  • Highly detail-oriented, efficient, and precise in execution.
  • Thrives in a high-energy, high-visibility, deadline-driven environment.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, constantly evolving setting.

  • Experience with Airtable is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with LF Studios production teams and athletic department content teams to create original content in each platform’s distinctive voice and tone, including emerging channels.
  • Manage post-production deliverable schedules and proactively communicate any risks or delays.
  • Perform final quality control on all content prior to distribution.
  • Assemble raw footage into rough cuts for Supervising Producer review.
  • Translate outlines, paper edits, and creative direction into strong first cuts.
  • Incorporate feedback and maintain clear version control through final delivery.
  • Partner closely with the Supervising Producer to ensure the final product aligns with their vision.
  • Complete 7–10 series each year, plus additional cutdowns and social-platform deliverables.
  • Assist on Learfield live-action production shoots.
  • Shoot and occasionally run live-action production shoots for short form series.
  • Ensure the highest possible content quality within established timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments to ensure all required deliverables are met.
