About The Position

Our client is a fast-growing home staging company based in Southeast Queensland, Australia. With a team of ~60 people and expanding operations across Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast, the business specializes in preparing homes for sale through strategic styling and visual presentation. With a growing in-house marketing team and multiple content initiatives underway, it is investing heavily in video to drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation. Our client is looking for a highly capable, self-directed Video Editor who can transform raw footage into engaging long-form and high-performing short-form content at scale. This role goes beyond basic editing. You’ll play a key role in identifying compelling moments, shaping narratives, and building a repeatable “content engine” across YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and more. The ideal candidate has strong creative judgment, understands what performs on social media, and can balance efficiency with quality, turning both professional and iPhone footage into polished, engaging content. This role exists to build a scalable content machine, someone who can take raw footage and consistently turn it into high-quality, multi-platform content that drives results.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of video editing experience (long-form + short-form)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both YouTube and social content
  • Proven ability to identify engaging moments and create viral-style clips
  • Experience editing for multiple platforms (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
  • Strong storytelling, pacing, and content structuring skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow creative briefs
  • Comfortable working asynchronously (no time-zone overlap required)
  • Proficiency with editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with podcasts and content repurposing
  • Familiarity with social media performance trends and algorithms
  • Experience working with mixed-quality footage (iPhone + professional)
  • Basic understanding of content strategy and audience engagement
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Opus Clips) with human refinement

Responsibilities

  • Edit YouTube videos (vlogs, educational content, interviews)
  • Structure content for clarity, engagement, and retention
  • Apply clean, professional edits (no excessive motion graphics required)
  • Identify high-performing moments from long-form videos and podcasts
  • Create engaging clips for: Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts
  • Adapt content to platform best practices (e.g., <90 seconds for Reels)
  • Turn a single podcast (~40 minutes) into 10+ short-form clips
  • Batch-edit “listing critique” videos (10–15 recordings per session)
  • Repurpose content across multiple platforms efficiently
  • Go beyond AI tools use human judgment to identify the best moments
  • Improve storytelling, pacing, and engagement
  • Elevate mixed-quality footage (pro camera + iPhone)
  • Work asynchronously with a remote team
  • Manage files via Google Drive and follow structured briefs
  • Help improve systems for consistent, repeatable output
  • Contribute ideas for content improvement and optimization
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on content direction
  • Continuously refine output based on performance and feedback
