About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, scripting, and facilitating studio and field-based video production of both short- and long-form videos for an internal or public-facing audience. This includes overseeing the entire lifecycle of a video project from pre-production, production, and post-production, as well as managing and optimizing content on third party websites such as YouTube and other social media platforms. The Video & Digital Media Coordinator will have the ability to communicate complex issues effectively through visual storytelling and writing to both a technical and non-technical audience. This position also facilitates requests from the news media, writes press releases, and contributes to the office’s other multimedia content creation tasks as necessary. This includes photography with a DSLR camera, podcast production, graphic design, and writing. The individual seeking this position should be comfortable working in a fast-paced creative environment with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently amid shifting priorities. Responsibilities also include overseeing the storage of the department’s photo and video assets and the implementation and organization of the department’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, including metadata keyword tagging. This position is responsible for maintaining the department’s AV equipment and assisting the rest of the department with basic troubleshooting and technical support of videoconferencing or audiovisual systems and software on Windows-based computers. The candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Audition, and Photoshop. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is a plus. Work will primarily be in a standard office environment with fieldwork on roadsides or construction sites across the state. Occasional statewide travel is required for public meetings or events.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Audition, and Photoshop.
  • A Bachelors Degree in assigned area and four (4) years of related work experience. Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
  • A broad understanding of communication, marketing and social media strategies, including excellent writing and copyediting skills.
  • A technical knowledge and understanding of a variety of audiovisual systems, including live streaming IP cameras and speaker systems.
  • Experience as an on-camera talent, either as a traditional broadcast journalist or on other non-traditional platforms such as social media.
  • Experience working in the construction industry.
  • Certification as a Part 107 Commercial UAS Pilot through the FAA.
