About The Position

The Victim Services Advocate provides trauma-informed support, resources, and advocacy to individuals affected by crime and/or crisis. This role assists clients in understanding their rights, navigating legal and social service systems, and accessing community resources.

Requirements

Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate/interact with wide variety of people
Knowledge of code of ethics, conflict of interest and regulatory requirements
Ability to provide documentation and enter data
Demonstrate professional dress, speech and behavior
Detach from client issues and view objectively as appropriate to the position
Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and co-workers
Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience as allowed/required by regulatory bodies

Nice To Haves

Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist preferred

Responsibilities

Conducts needs assessments, offers emotional support, and coordinates safety planning
Identify and assess needs of customers/clients
Accompanies clients to court proceedings or appointments as needed
Maintains detailed documentation, and ensures services are delivered with empathy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
Collaborates with community partners,
Facilitate referral to and/or provide appropriate level of care
Develop, define and implement realistic, effective and measurable goals and plans for services
Collect, track and evaluate program data for fidelity and service quality
Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulations
Drive for job duties as assigned
Other duties as assigned
