About The Position

The mission of the Napa County District Attorney's Office is to investigate and prosecute criminal and civil cases with integrity and fairness, to treat crime victims and witnesses with the highest level of respect and dignity, and to take a proactive role in crime prevention through community awareness and education. The ideal candidate will be a person of integrity while possessing a passion for justice, a love for mercy, and an attitude of humility. Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience is desired.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
  • Victim Advocate Witness I: One year of para-professional victim services, peer counseling, crisis intervention, social services or related advocacy experience.
  • Victim Advocate Witness I: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Victim Advocate Witness II: Two years experience performing victim services, peer counseling, crisis intervention and social services work activities for the County of Napa or other victim-witness program.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County.
  • For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience is desired.
  • Victim Advocate Witness I: Completion of 18 units of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or a closely related field is highly desirable.
  • Victim Advocate Witness II: Completion of 18 units of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university in behavioral science, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or a closely related field.
  • Victim Advocate Witness II: An Associate, Bachelor and/or Masters degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
