About The Position

Under supervision of the District Attorney, this position provides supervision, coordination, and advanced victim advocacy services that ensure victims and witnesses of crime receive effective support, crisis response, legal information, and assistance navigating the criminal justice system.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing victim services, social services, criminal justice services, or closely related services; OR Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field, AND five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing victim services, social services, criminal justice services, or closely related services.
One (1) year of supervisory or lead work experience, including responsibility for assigning or coordinating work, providing direction or training, or reviewing or monitoring the work of others.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
Must obtain Victim Services Professional certification within the first three (3) years of employment.

Nice To Haves

Previous grant writing and administration, including grant tracking, reporting, and compliance.
Current certification as a Victim Services Professional.
Certification in State Victim Assistance Academy or National Organization of Victim Assistance.
Experience with PROSECUTORbyKarpel (PBK) software.
Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
