About The Position

The Vice President of Enterprise Security Architecture is a senior technology leader in Enterprise Architecture who owns the firm’s security architecture, including its target state, reference architectures, standards, and patterns. The role defines the roadmap for zero trust, identity, data protection, and cloud security, and embeds security into modernization programs and technology delivery from the outset. This is an AI-forward role requiring hands-on use of AI coding agents and agentic tooling, as well as ownership of the architecture and controls that enable their safe adoption. This includes agent and workload identity, least-privilege tool access, prompt-injection and data-exfiltration protections, and auditable evidence. The leader is expected to make secure practices practical and efficient for engineering teams. The position leads the Lead Security Architect and works closely with Information Security, which retains responsibility for security operations, risk acceptance, and policy. The role owns architecture, standards, and reusable patterns; it also requires executive presence and the ability to engage deeply with engineers, executives, auditors, and regulators. The position follows a hybrid-friendly schedule, with three in-office days per week, including Monday or Friday, at the St. Petersburg, Florida corporate office. Travel is less than 25%. The role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Requirements

  • More than 15 years of general experience and deep, hands-on mastery of security architecture.
  • 10 to 15 years of manager experience.
  • Experience at a large technology company or hyperscaler, or at a major financial institution such as a Wall Street bank, exchange, broker-dealer, or asset manager.
  • Daily use of Claude Code or similar agentic tools, with evidence of securing AI or agentic systems in production.
  • Ability to read code, write policy-as-code, and sketch reference implementations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science; the posting also lists High School (HS) as required.

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise security target architecture and the roadmap from the current state to the target state, covering zero trust; workforce, client, and non-human identity and access management; network segmentation; encryption and key management; and data protection.
  • Own security architecture standards for AI and agentic systems, including agent and workload identity, scoped tool permissions, human approval gates, prompt-injection and data-exfiltration controls, model and data provenance, and auditable logging.
  • Use AI coding agents and agentic tooling hands-on for security architecture work, including threat modeling, policy-as-code, control mapping, architecture review, and reference implementations; establish safe usage patterns for architecture and engineering teams.
  • Build security into delivery through design-time threat modeling, secure-by-default golden paths, and pipeline controls, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management, SBOMs, supply-chain provenance, and policy-as-code.
  • Set cloud security architecture for AWS and Azure with Enterprise & Cloud Architecture, including landing-zone guardrails, identity federation, network and data-perimeter controls, and continuous compliance.
  • Lead security architecture reviews for major initiatives and third-party, SaaS, and vendor platforms; use consistent published criteria, record decisions, and ensure exceptions are time-bound and tracked to closure.
  • Translate regulatory and examination expectations, including SEC, FINRA, GLBA, NIST CSF, and NIST AI RMF, into architecture standards and reusable controls, and provide architecture evidence for audits and examinations.
  • Measure and report on the practice, including pattern adoption, exception aging, and the share of findings identified at design time rather than in production.
  • Lead and develop the Lead Security Architect and grow a security architecture community of practice across the technology organization.
  • Collaborate with senior executives on security strategy, investment cases, and executive-level communications and presentations.
  • Maintain an external view of the threat landscape and emerging AI-security research and frameworks, including the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and MITRE ATLAS.
