About The Position

Hillwood’s Corporate Services team is seeking a strategic finance leader to oversee the enterprise-wide management of cash, liquidity, banking relationships, and investment activity. The Vice President, Treasury Management will work in Dallas, Texas at our corporate headquarters and is responsible for building and leading a modern, technology-enabled Treasury function while establishing the strategy, systems, processes, and controls necessary to effectively manage Hillwood’s complex cash and banking portfolio. This individual will lead enterprise liquidity planning, cash forecasting, banking strategy and relationships, interest rate and yield optimization, investment activity, treasury operations, and related governance and reporting. The Vice President will also play a critical role in modernizing the Treasury function through automation, treasury management systems, data-driven reporting, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in treasury and cash management, strong analytical and leadership capabilities, demonstrated experience building or modernizing a sophisticated Treasury function, and a proactive, collaborative approach to partnering with ownership, executive leadership, and Hillwood’s divisions.

Requirements

Deep knowledge of treasury management, cash and liquidity management, banking operations, investment management, and related financial controls.
Demonstrated ability to build, transform, or meaningfully modernize a complex Treasury function rather than solely maintain established processes.
Strong technology orientation with experience implementing or optimizing treasury management systems, bank connectivity and API solutions, automation, and data-driven reporting and forecasting tools.
Proven ability to own and strategically manage banking relationships, including negotiating interest rates, fees, account structures, and other banking terms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial information, assess risk, identify trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
Strategic mindset combined with the willingness and ability to remain close to the operational details of the Treasury function.
Exceptional judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion in managing significant financial assets and confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build strong cross-functional relationships, and effectively partner across a decentralized organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the executive presence necessary to engage confidently with ownership, C-suite executives, divisional leadership, team members, and external financial institutions.
Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize competing demands, and drive initiatives through completion.
High degree of integrity, accountability, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline required.
15+ years of progressive treasury and corporate finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
Demonstrated experience managing a large, complex cash and banking portfolio; experience with a multi-billion-dollar portfolio strongly preferred.
Significant experience developing, implementing, or modernizing treasury systems, processes, automation, and reporting capabilities.
Demonstrated experience directly managing and negotiating sophisticated banking relationships.

Nice To Haves

MBA and/or relevant professional certification, such as CPA or CTP, strongly preferred.
Experience within real estate, a privately held organization, family office, or similarly complex financial environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the enterprise Treasury function, establishing strategy, priorities, operating standards, and performance expectations.
Develop and execute an enterprise-wide treasury management strategy that strengthens cash and liquidity management, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
Modernize Hillwood’s Treasury function through implementation and optimization of treasury management systems, automation, AI, and other emerging technologies.
Identify opportunities to centralize and standardize treasury activities, processes, and reporting across Hillwood’s divisions while appropriately supporting individual business needs.
Stay current on treasury trends, economic and financial risks, fraud-prevention practices, and emerging technologies, proactively recommending relevant solutions and best practices.
Own and manage enterprise banking relationships, including account structure, account openings and closings, ECR, interest-bearing and sweep arrangements, and ongoing relationship management.
Serve as a strategic partner to divisional leadership on banking and lending relationships, cash management, liquidity, and related treasury matters.
Negotiate interest rates, fees, account terms, and maintenance costs across deposit and investment accounts to optimize returns and costs.
Monitor banking counterparty health, concentration, and related risks across Hillwood’s domestic and international banking portfolio, developing appropriate reporting and recommendations.
Oversee banking platform access, user entitlements, security protocols, and fraud-prevention controls, including positive pay, debit and ACH blocks, and other appropriate safeguards.
Lead enterprise-wide daily cash positioning and liquidity planning to ensure efficient deployment and availability of cash.
Develop and maintain a robust, forward-looking, automated cash forecasting and liquidity framework to improve visibility, optimize liquidity, and maximize yield.
Manage Hillwood’s investment accounts and evaluate new investment products and opportunities appropriate for a large and complex portfolio.
Oversee and approve outgoing payment activity, including ACH, checks, Paymode, and wire transfers, in accordance with established controls and authorization requirements.
Oversee recurring treasury reporting, including cash balances, yield and interest income analysis, significant transaction activity, and short-term cash forecasts.
Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and divisional leadership on funding activities, liquidity requirements, and cash-related reporting.
Maintain and enhance Treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls consistent with business needs, regulatory requirements, security standards, and leading practices.
Ensure enterprise-wide adherence to established Treasury policies, procedures, controls, and authorization requirements.
Oversee foreign bank account reporting and other applicable Treasury-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
Proactively identify and mitigate financial, banking, counterparty and fraud risks within the Treasury function.
