About The Position

The role incumbent will be a senior negotiator of various master trading agreements. The role involves negotiating various industry-standard and, with the Law Group, non-standard master trading agreements, including complex and/or structured trading agreements and ancillary documents. It also includes negotiating and reviewing regulation-driven documentation, particularly VM and IM agreements. The incumbent will coordinate, in conjunction with the Law Group and other team members, changes and updates to RBC master agreement templates and the management of these templates, ensuring compliance with RBC policy documents (“Standing Orders”) for all trading documentation and ensuring appropriate internal systems are updated accordingly. The role also assists the Regional Head as required in project and other management.

Requirements

  • Proven master agreement negotiation experience (5-10 years).
  • Extensive knowledge of Capital Markets products & the trading environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard master agreements (ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, etc) and various counterparty types (FI’s, corporates, funds, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle significant and diverse workload.
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with facility agreements and/or facility-linked swap documentation advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience negotiating FBF and/or Deutsche Rahmenvertrag advantageous but not essential.
  • Legal qualifications/experience.
