About The Position

First Bankers Trust Company is seeking an experienced technology leader to serve as our Vice President – Technology Services. The Vice President – Technology Services is the Bank’s senior technology leader, responsible for the people, infrastructure, data services, end-user support, and governance that keep First Bankers Trust running securely and reliably. Leading a team of two managers and their staff, the VP ensures the Bank’s systems are dependable, well-controlled, and positioned to support growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances two priorities; running the bank: delivering secure, efficient day-to-day operations and disciplined governance, and building the bank: partnering across the organization to anticipate needs and translate them into practical, prioritized technology plans aligned with business goals and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA a plus.
  • 7-10 years managing technology operations, preferably in financial services, fintech, or a similarly regulated environment.
  • 3–5 years leading and developing people, with a track record of building capable teams.
  • Technical breadth and depth across infrastructure, architecture, and information security.
  • Demonstrated change and transformation leadership, with strong project management and execution skills.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, and data platforms and their secure integration into an enterprise environment.
  • Strong business acumen and emotional intelligence, with the ability to collaborate comfortably across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

  • Set technology priorities aligned with departmental and Bank-wide goals, translating them into project plans with clear tracking against targets.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across infrastructure, network systems, data services, and the helpdesk, continually improving the quality and responsiveness of end-user support.
  • Lead the implementation of new technology services and products, including hardware, software, and related purchasing.
  • Manage the Bank’s core banking system and core processor relationship, ensuring reliable performance, integration, and ongoing optimization.
  • Maintain strong, current knowledge, for self and team, of the Bank’s infrastructure and architecture.
  • Serve as the Bank’s First Line of Defense for information security, embedding protection of systems, infrastructure, and data into every technology activity.
  • Own and execute security controls within daily IT operations, including system administration, access management, patching, and configuration management, in line with established policies, standards, and baseline configurations.
  • Partner with Risk Management to lead cybersecurity strategy, and proactively identify, escalate, and remediate risks, vulnerabilities, and control weaknesses with the Information Security Officer.
  • Maintain accountability for secure system operation and monitoring, including alerts, logs, and risk indicators and serve as the primary operational line for detecting, containing, and recovering from security incidents.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory examinations by demonstrating control execution and providing accurate operational insight.
  • Serve as foundational partner to the enterprise Systems Integration & Automation function, providing the secure environment its solutions run on without owning automation design, build, or platform accountabilities.
  • Provide and maintain the secure, reliable foundation, including infrastructure, data architecture, access controls, data quality, and system performance, that approved AI and automation initiatives depend on (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, HuLoop).
  • Ensure AI and automation operate within the Bank’s established security, data governance, and regulatory controls.
  • Maintain sufficient working knowledge of AI, automation, and emerging financial technology to advise leadership on feasibility, risk, and resourcing.
  • Develop and manage departmental and Bank-wide technology budgets and the technology strategic roadmap.
  • Track and monitor the performance of technology investments against expected outcomes.
  • Manage the commercial and contractual vendor relationships for technology products and services, including contract, licensing, and asset management.
