About The Position

Tax Operations is a critical part of the firm’s global Tax function. The Business Analyst team translates tax, regulatory, risk, and business requirements into clear operating models, data requirements, controls, and technology-enabled solutions. The team partners with Tax specialists, Operations, Engineering, Controllers, business stakeholders, and governance functions to deliver compliant, scalable, and well-documented outcomes. The role combines structured problem solving, requirements analysis, process and data design, delivery governance, testing, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement. The expected scale of ownership and leadership increases by level, while all team members are accountable for accuracy, evidence, clear communication, and disciplined execution. Lead the transformation of complex Tax functions from document-heavy, manually coordinated processes into controlled, digitally enabled and AI-supported experiences. You will operate as a senior product owner and change leader, setting the vision, translating tax and business priorities into a transformation roadmap, and guiding multidisciplinary teams from discovery through adoption and measurable business outcomes. This role requires a leader who has already transformed a Tax or similarly complex control function. The successful candidate will understand how to redesign documentation, processes, data, controls and user journeys, and will know how to apply AI selectively where it improves quality, consistency, risk visibility and efficiency without weakening tax judgment, governance or accountability. Tax Operations helps the firm meet tax and reporting obligations, protect data and process integrity, respond to regulatory and audit expectations, and support business growth. The transformation function creates the strategy, product ownership, documentation discipline and delivery coordination required to move from fragmented processes to controlled, scalable and sustainable tax solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in tax transformation, tax operations, tax technology, product management, business transformation, consulting or a related field.
Proven track record transforming a Tax or similarly complex control function, with examples of moving document-heavy or manual processes into sustained digital operation.
Demonstrated product ownership, including vision, roadmap, prioritization, user journeys, requirements, delivery governance, release acceptance and benefit realization.
Practical experience bringing AI, document intelligence, automation or advanced analytics into business processes and explaining where AI should and should not be used.
Understanding of responsible AI practices, including approved data sources, confidentiality, entitlements, human review, testing, source traceability, monitoring and model limitations.
Expertise in process redesign, operating-model design, business and functional requirements, data lineage, control design, testing and implementation readiness.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders, resolve competing priorities and communicate complex transformation decisions clearly.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and multi-workstream programs through ambiguity, adoption and measurable delivery.
Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, accountability and constructive challenge in a high-risk environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in operational tax, tax documentation, withholding, information reporting, regulatory inquiries, tax data or tax controls within financial services.
Experience digitizing document-heavy workflows using OCR or document AI, structured metadata, centralized repositories, workflow technology and exception-based operating models.
Experience designing or deploying knowledge agents, declarative agents, workflow agents, retrieval-grounded solutions, prompt libraries or AI-assisted document and data workflows.
Experience with JIRA and Confluence; process and decision-modeling tools such as Signavio, Visio or DMN; and analytics or automation tools such as SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI or Power Platform.
Experience with data governance, authoritative sources, lineage, data quality controls, privacy classification and audit-ready evidence.
Experience building adoption networks, communities of practice, transformation standards, training programs and reusable solution patterns.

Responsibilities

Create and execute a multi-year vision and roadmap for digital transformation across priority Tax processes, systems and user journeys.
Act as product owner for strategic Tax platforms and capabilities, defining outcomes, users, pain points, requirements, priorities, success measures, release criteria and adoption plans.
Lead current-state discovery and target-state design across tax documentation, withholding, reporting, reconciliations, inquiries and regulatory change.
Transform documentation by establishing structured, searchable and reusable knowledge; clear rule-interpretation lineage; controlled procedures; decision models; data definitions; and audit-ready evidence.
Redesign workflows to reduce manual handoffs, duplicate data entry, avoidable reviews and fragmented storage, while preserving appropriate challenge, approval and tax judgment.
Lead digitization of document-intensive processes using digital intake, document extraction, validation, workflow orchestration, centralized repositories and exception-based processing.
Define a practical AI strategy that distinguishes personal productivity, decision support, document intelligence, knowledge agents, workflow agents and engineered solutions.
Build and prioritize an AI use-case portfolio based on business value, repeatability, data readiness, risk, feasibility, adoption needs and measurable return.
Take AI-enabled solutions from concept through controlled implementation, including approved knowledge sources, entitlements, instructions, testing, human review, traceability, monitoring, ownership and change governance.
Partner with Tax specialists, Operations, Engineering, Controllers, Risk, Data and business stakeholders to translate tax requirements into implementable processes, data, decision logic, controls and platform capabilities.
Establish end-to-end traceability from rule interpretation and business requirements through functional design, data sourcing, controls, testing, release sign-off and post-implementation review.
Embed data governance and control by design, including ownership, lineage, authoritative sources, quality expectations, reconciliation, access, evidence, monitoring and sustainable support.
Lead pilots and proofs of concept with clear hypotheses and success measures; decide whether to stop, improve or scale based on evidence.
Drive adoption through stakeholder alignment, communications, training, demonstrations, champion networks, transition planning and ongoing measurement.
Manage the transformation portfolio with transparent milestones, dependencies, decisions, risks, investment needs, benefits and executive reporting.
Coach teams in product thinking, structured problem solving, documentation, data literacy, process design, experimentation and responsible use of AI.
Set transformation priorities.
Facilitate senior design and decision forums; align stakeholders on the problem, target state, roadmap, ownership and implementation approach.
Review product requirements, process maps, data lineage, control designs, AI instructions, test evidence and release-readiness materials for quality and completeness.
Work with end users to understand friction in real workflows and convert those insights into a prioritized product backlog.
Challenge whether activity should be retained, simplified, automated, supported by AI, or eliminated.
Monitor adoption, cycle time, quality, exceptions, errors, manual effort, user experience and realized benefits after implementation.
Sponsor knowledge sharing and develop reusable transformation standards, templates and solution patterns.
