About The Position

VersaDesk is a growing manufacturer of ergonomic, adjustable height workspaces and standing desks. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products to our customers while maintaining a nimble, innovative, and collaborative workplace. We are seeking a hands-on, strategic VP of Production to lead our manufacturing operations. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the entire production lifecycle—from supply chain and procurement to assembly and shipping. You will be tasked with scaling our operations, optimizing efficiency, ensuring top-tier product quality, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's/MBA is a plus).
  • Deep understanding of small-to-mid size manufacturing environments, equipment maintenance, and supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP software and manufacturing execution systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong financial acumen (ability to manage departmental budgets), and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop and execute production strategies that align with the company's short-term and long-term revenue goals.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma) to reduce waste and optimize production costs.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards to minimize defects, reduce scrap, and guarantee 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Enforce OSHA compliance and cultivate a proactive culture of workplace safety.
  • Lead and mentor the production team, including plant managers, supervisors, and floor staff.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics for the production floor, conducting regular performance reviews and driving accountability.
  • Manage procurement and inventory levels, balancing the need to fulfill orders quickly while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective raw materials and timely deliveries.
