About The Position

The Vice President of Strategic Planning & Financial Operations plays a critical leadership role in translating U.S. Marketing & Communications priorities into an integrated, financially disciplined plan that delivers brand and business growth. This leader partners closely with U.S. marketing leadership, Finance, Services, and business stakeholders to shape annual and multiyear plans, manage budgets, cultivate ideas, and maximize the impact of marketing investment. The role connects strategic ambition with financial capacity—identifying efficiencies, advancing monetization opportunities, and projecting advertising and marketing (A&M) capacity to support existing commitments and future opportunities. As a trusted strategic and financial partner, this leader strengthens accountability across the organization, ensuring plans remain actionable, investments are monitored, and emerging risks are addressed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing planning, financial management, business operations, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to evaluate competing priorities, model scenarios, and recommend resource allocations that balance ambition, capacity, and business impact.
  • Experience developing business cases and assessing monetization opportunities, including costs, revenue, margin, and financial risk.
  • Strong forecasting, budget management, and data analysis skills, with the ability to build reliable financial models and surface actionable insights.
  • Ability to develop compelling narratives and present recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence and align marketing, Finance, Services, Procurement, and business teams.
  • Ability to create space for team contributions, assess new concepts, and turn promising ideas into executable plans.
  • Experience improving processes, maintaining financial controls, and delivering reliable execution.
  • Understanding of consumer and B2B marketing, including campaigns, media, sponsorships, and customer engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, marketing, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integrated U.S. Marketing & Communications planning, translating business priorities into clear objectives, investment requirements, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner across consumer, B2B, product, sponsorship, and customer marketing teams to align plans, identify dependencies, and coordinate resources against shared priorities.
  • Cultivate ideas across the team, evaluate their strategic and commercial potential, and develop promising concepts into actionable proposals with clear business cases.
  • Own annual and multiyear budget planning, aligning investment with strategic priorities, campaign needs, and business outcomes.
  • Manage committed, planned, and incremental spending, providing clear visibility into financial performance, obligations, risks, and available funding.
  • Partner with Finance and budget owners to maintain accurate forecasts, reconcile spending, and deliver timely financial reporting.
  • Build forward-looking A&M capacity projections that account for existing commitments, anticipated costs, efficiencies, and incremental funding opportunities.
  • Develop investment scenarios and recommendations that help leadership address funding gaps, assess tradeoffs, and allocate resources to the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Identify and deliver budget efficiencies through coordinated planning, asset reuse, vendor optimization, and more effective deployment of resources.
  • Partner with Services and customer teams to advance monetization strategies for U.S. marketing assets, sponsorships, experiences, and capabilities, connecting customer demand with marketing priorities.
  • Evaluate the economics of commercialization opportunities, including upfront investment, delivery costs, revenue potential, margin, timing, and financial exposure.
  • Work with Finance and Services to clarify funding requirements, A&M and cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) treatment, and the resulting impact on marketing capacity.
  • Incorporate customer pipeline assumptions into financial projections, clearly distinguishing prospective revenue from committed funding, and track commercialization results against expected capacity creation.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and financial closeout, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to enterprise policies and controls.
  • Improve planning and financial workflows, including practical applications of technology and AI that strengthen efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Lead preparation of U.S. marketing business reviews and executive updates, connecting strategic progress, financial performance, and business outcomes with clear recommendations and decisions required.
