About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineer in New York, New York to work on the infrastructure release for wealth management technology. This role involves working on transformation initiatives in wealth management for release software engineering and change risk assessment. The position also entails working on large technology events such as data center isolation tests. The Vice President will be responsible for software releases in progress at various stages, as well as other changes to address production fixes, mandatory projects, certificate releases, password rotation, and significant technology change events. Key duties include ensuring proper monitoring, management reporting, and governance to support delivery efforts, assisting in the coordination of change execution activities, performing software deployment analysis, and scheduling deployment tasks. The role requires creating a consolidated implementation plan for change packages, providing metrics and status reporting before, during, and after change events, and assisting with issues and risks during change events, with follow-ups for appropriate closure. The position also involves transitioning the environment to the Application Support Group (ASG) via a formalized handshake after each change event, and conducting post-event evaluation, communication, and reporting. Additionally, the role will focus on large projects originating from production instability to ensure plant resiliency.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate Consultant, or a related role in the software development field.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience with Infrastructure Releases, Networks, and Authentication Products including Kerberos; Apigee; Unix; Windows; Teradata; Snowflake; Tableau and Kafka; Autosys; MQ; SOLR
  • Experience in Certificate and Password Management; SQL; Unix; Web; Qlikview; GIT; JIRA; MS Visio; PowerPoint; KoreAI; Apica; Tereo; Wealth Management; Investment Banking; and Capital Markets.

Responsibilities

  • Work on transformation initiatives in wealth management for release software engineering and change risk assessment.

  • Responsible for software releases in flight at various stages as well as other changes to satisfy production fixes, mandatory projects, certificate releases, password rotation, and large technology change events.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, management reporting and governance supporting the delivery efforts.
  • Assist in the coordination of change execution activities.
  • Perform software deployment analysis and scheduling of deployment tasks.
  • Create consolidated implementation plan for the change packages consisting of approved and aligned changes.
  • Provide metrics and status reporting before, during, and after the change events.
  • Assist with issues and risks during the change event, and follow-ups after the event to ensure appropriate closure.
