About The Position

Manage client relationships with new and existing clients, focusing on macro products such as Interest Rates Products, Securitized and Structured Products, and Repo. As part of the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) Asia Pacific Sales and Japan sales business of global investments in the Asia-Pacific region, this role focuses on trading, sales, and structuring products for local markets in Asia. The position provides financial services for a customer base that is 90% Japanese speaking and involves conducting trading calls in Japanese with this client base, the majority of whom are in Japan. The role utilizes data to identify and monetize cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base and identifies opportunities for new Interest Rates clients using internal data sources, internal networking, and external data. The position markets and pitches the Firm’s range of eFICC and Efx platforms directly to clients, tailoring pitches to specific client needs and platform strengths. It involves working with existing clients to deliver the firm’s content and help them optimize their trade flow with GS via electronic platforms. The role also builds and maintains robust systems to monitor client activity, identify changes, drops, and increases in client activity, and optimize franchise via platform selection. Additionally, it involves troubleshooting client issues with eFX and eFICC platforms in real time, including onboarding and operational issues when escalated to the sales team, and performing live trade pricing and execution, as well as backing up the voice sales desk.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, International Studies or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, International Studies or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Prior experience must include three (3) years with Master’s OR five (5) years with Bachelor’s with the following: experience in financial markets, including bond sector.
  • Integrated fundamental macroeconomic data, geopolitical events, and quantitative financial modeling to predict market trends and provide fixed-income trading strategies to institutional clients.
  • Fixed income derivative markets for interest rate product (IRP) structures.
  • IRP Trading platforms and multi-dealer platform providers to guide clients regarding features and constraints of each platform, including single-dealer and multi-dealer platforms, Request for quote (RFQ), streaming, and algo execution.
  • All operational aspects of the IRP trade life cycles.
  • Working within regulatory frameworks around IRP trading, including experience with required documents for trading instruments, regulations governing instruments, and acceptable execution methods for different instruments.
  • Communicating with Japanese executives regarding market trends, and facilitating business relationships with Japanese brokers to expand and maintain clientele.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63.
  • Fluent in Japanese to communicate with customer base that is 90% Japanese speaking.
