About The Position

BNY Mellon Investment Management Holdings, LLC seeks a Senior Vice President, IM Research in Pittsburgh, PA, to coordinate a significant portion of research activity for a major investment area. This role involves independently conducting investment research studies, analyzing individual securities, classes of securities, or the development of quantitative decision-making models. The position requires making, buying, selling, and holding recommendations, providing judgment in the field of securities, and consistently delivering strong performance. Responsibilities include coordinating capital in investment funds, authoring and presenting investment theses and other published works, and liaising with management, suppliers, competitors, and customers from companies being researched. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computational Finance, Engineering (Any), or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related occupation in the financial services industry.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Utilizing risk management frameworks involving Value at Risk (VaR), and stress testing/scenario analysis including historical, parametric, and Monte Carlo.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Handling commercial frameworks including Aladdin, Barra or Axioma.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Understanding risk drivers of major asset classes, including equities, fixed income, securitized assets (CLOs), and derivatives.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience must include: Understanding risk and performance drivers of global multi-asset portfolios, interplay between underlying global assets, FX risk, and FX and market hedges including correlation and volatility interplay.
  • Three (3) years of experience must include: Analyzing and validating unexpected results, performing root cause of potential underlying issue, leveraging data analysis, and using productivity tools including Excel VBA macros, Python, and SQL.
  • Three (3) years of experience must include: Utilizing economic and financial leverage mechanics, investment strategies including active/passive, liquid and illiquid alternatives, and individual trades including directional, long/short, relative value, structured, derivatives vs cash based.
