About The Position

The Vice President, Quality Transformation & Advisory Services leads the development, commercialization, and external positioning of Jefferson's OnPoint Clinical Operating System as a nationally and globally recognized advisory, education, and thought leadership platform within the IMPACT Institute. This externally facing executive translates Jefferson's capabilities in quality, safety, human-centered resilience engineering, AI-enabled improvement, analytics, and learning health system implementation into a self-sustaining portfolio of advisory, executive education, and partnership offerings. The role owns external revenue, grant, and business development targets, cultivates and retains external clients and contracts, and coordinates across IMPACT Institute centers, faculty, and Jefferson operational leaders so that offerings remain market-relevant, scientifically rigorous, and aligned with internal priorities. Performance is measured by the ability to create value, expand opportunities, strengthen reputation, and advance organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Executive presence and external credibility with CEOs, CMOs, CQOs, CNOs, boards, foundations, industry partners, philanthropists, and global healthcare organizations, including the ability to translate complex quality, safety, AI, and transformation concepts into compelling client-facing narratives.
  • Business acumen spanning revenue generation, pricing, proposal development, client acquisition and retention, margin management, and the design of scalable, self-sustaining service models.
  • Advanced expertise in healthcare quality, patient safety, high reliability, resilience engineering, human factors, and implementation science, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and matrixed faculty without direct-line authority.
  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (healthcare quality, healthcare administration, clinical informatics, or public health) required.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare quality and safety transformation in a health system or academic medical center required.

  • 5 years of experience developing or delivering advisory, consulting, or executive education services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Builds the OnPoint external advisory practice, including strategy, service offerings, and delivery model, and establishes the supporting infrastructure for proposals, grants, contracting, and engagement measurement in partnership with legal, compliance, grants management, finance, marketing, and development.
  • Owns annual external advisory business development targets; builds and converts a qualified pipeline of health system, industry, philanthropic, and government opportunities into repeatable, margin-positive engagements that make the service self-sustaining.
  • Serves as senior external face of Jefferson's clinical operating model, leading client development and executive advisory relationships from discovery and scoping through delivery, renewal, and expansion.
  • Coordinates across IMPACT Institute centers, faculty, and fellows to translate institutional expertise into relevant services, and ensures external work strengthens Jefferson's internal quality, safety, transformation, academic and overall organizational priorities.
  • Advances the reputation and thought leadership of Jefferson and the IMPACT Institute through publications, white papers, case studies, executive briefings, convenings, and national and international speaking engagements.
  • Ensures scientific rigor and mission alignment by grounding all offerings in quality and safety science, human factors, implementation science, and measurable outcomes, and by governing external claims, brand use, intellectual property, data sharing, and client confidentiality.
