About The Position

The Vice President, Property Development serves as the executive leader accountable for the successful planning, governance, execution, and delivery of the American Express New Global Headquarters Workplace and Amenities program. This role provides end-to-end leadership across workplace strategy, design, project controls, procurement, construction, technology integration, commissioning, occupancy readiness, move, change, and stakeholder management. The VP will act as the single accountable executive responsible for achieving schedule, budget, quality, safety, sustainability, and colleague experience objectives across the design and construction of the Interiors Project. This includes leading executive governance, decision-making, risk management, and reporting processes for one of the company’s most significant capital investments. The role also serves as the primary interface with interior architects, engineers, consultants, construction managers, and senior business leaders, and leads the Interiors integration and coordination with the base building development team. Additionally, the VP will lead and develop internal project teams while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Executive leadership experience in planning, governance, execution, and delivery of large-scale capital projects, specifically in workplace strategy, design, and construction.
  • Proven ability to provide end-to-end leadership across a complex range of functions including project controls, procurement, construction, technology integration, commissioning, and occupancy readiness.
  • Demonstrated success in managing schedule, budget, quality, safety, sustainability, and colleague experience objectives.
  • Experience in leading executive governance, decision-making, risk management, and reporting processes.
  • Strong interface and communication skills with external consultants (architects, engineers, construction managers) and internal senior business leaders.
  • Experience in leading and developing internal project teams and fostering a positive team culture.
