About The Position

The Vice President - Private Banking Lender will be responsible for interacting with Private Client Groups, their clients, and prospects to assess new loan requests. This role involves underwriting new loan requests and renewals, performing in-depth borrower due diligence and financial analysis, and preparing credit memorandums. The position requires proposing transaction structures that comply with credit and bank policy, preparing quarterly and annual reviews of portfolio borrowers, and managing department reporting. Additionally, the role involves coordinating loan closings and assisting with portfolio management and credit policy compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of private client lending experience
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial statement / cash flow analysis and financial ratios; experience underwriting moderate to complex credit facilities
  • Strong knowledge of private banking, commercial, real estate and specialty lending with understanding of federal banking regulations and bank policies
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reviews for entire loan portfolio
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including significant experience making presentations to senior management and financially sophisticated clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Required to learn and manage internal reporting systems on an accelerated basis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance is required.

  • Knowledge of other computer languages and systems helpful
  • Coursework in financial analysis, credit analysis, accounting and systems management preferred.
  • Prior work in premier private bank also preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Private Client Groups, their clients and prospects to assess new loan requests.
  • Underwrite new loan requests and renewals; perform in-depth borrower due diligence and financial analysis.
  • Prepare in-depth credit memorandums and present transactions to oversight and approval committees.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis on borrowers/guarantors.
  • Propose transaction structures that comply with credit and bank policy.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reviews of all portfolio borrowers; obtain all mandatory compliance information on a timely basis.
  • Manage all aspects of department reporting and distribution.
  • Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate, and in compliance with policy and approval.
  • Coordinate loan closings with outside attorneys.
  • Assist First Vice President and other bank credit professionals in portfolio management, credit policy compliance and special projects.
