About The Position

The Vice President of Pharmacy is responsible for coordinating the provision of pharmaceutical care across all provider facilities, both inpatient and outpatient. They establish the scope of services for pharmacy operations across the organization, evaluate operations on an ongoing basis utilizing principles of continuous improvement, and maintain the highest quality and an appropriate scope to meet local and regional patient care needs. This role acts as a key contributor in providing high quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical care across all Carle sites, develops a strategic plan for pharmacy operations across the system aligned to meet the organization's strategic objectives, and develops and maintains practice standards for all professional staff. The VP supports individual professional growth, ensures staff maintain necessary competencies, and collaborates with nursing leadership to ensure engagement of nurses within the Pharmacy Division with Magnet and other professional nursing practice tenets. Additionally, they develop and oversee the pharmacy purchasing strategy to maintain the pharmacy supply chain, provide oversight for pharmacy contracting, and offer budgetary leadership and oversight for aggregated budgets for all pharmacy locations. The position ensures pharmacy service line accreditation readiness with medication management and pharmacy practice standards for DNV, ACHC, URAC, and other accrediting bodies as appropriate, and coordinates and oversees pharmacy automation and 340B operations system-wide.

Requirements

  • Licensed Pharmacist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Bachelor's Degree: Pharmacy or Master's Degree: Healthcare or Master's Degree: Business Administration or Doctorate: Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy Administrative - 5 years
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Pharmacy Regulations.
  • Familiarity with the Federal 340B Program.
  • Creation and administration of pharmacy budgets
