About The Position

ABC Fitness is seeking a Vice President of Payment Operations & Partnerships to lead and scale its global payments operations and partner network. This role is responsible for end-to-end payment operations, including onboarding, disputes, reconciliation, payouts, and automation. A key focus is integrating AI and intelligent automation to transform workflows into scalable, data-driven systems that enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve client experience for 37,000 merchants. The position is critical to advancing ABC's global commerce platform by driving operational scale, financial accuracy, and intelligent automation, while fostering growth through partnerships and innovation. The role will shape the future of payments at ABC, ensuring seamless experiences for millions of members and thousands of fitness businesses globally.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or SaaS, with senior leadership in payment operations.
  • Proven track record of scaling global payment operations, including reconciliation, disputes, onboarding, and payouts.
  • Experience driving automation and transformation initiatives, including AI/ML-based solutions in operations.
  • Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, including PSPs, acquiring, card networks, and alternative payment methods.
  • Strong experience managing strategic partnerships and complex vendor ecosystems.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing large-scale payment flows, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success leading global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or scaling payments platforms or global commerce infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (PCI, NACHA, PSD2, etc.).
  • Experience implementing AI/automation in financial operations or payments environments.
  • Background in multi-country, multi-entity payments environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale global payment operations across merchant onboarding, disputes/chargebacks, reconciliation, settlements, and payouts.
  • Manage and expand strategic partnerships with PSPs, banks, and fintech providers, including commercial negotiations and performance optimization.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global team, establishing KPIs, SLAs, and a culture of operational excellence.
  • Deploy AI/automation use cases such as dispute management, exception handling, reconciliation matching, onboarding risk assessment, anomaly detection, and payment failure recovery.
  • Oversee global funds flow, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial controls across reconciliation, settlements, and reporting.
  • Own chargeback and dispute strategy, improving prevention, win rates, and compliance with card network rules.
  • Optimize merchant onboarding to deliver a seamless, compliant, and scalable experience across global markets.
  • Develop real-time monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities through a centralized payments command center.
  • Drive payment performance improvements (authorization rates, routing, cost of acceptance) through data, analytics, and partner strategies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, and GTM teams to align payments strategy with company growth and platform evolution.
