This role is for a Vice President (VP) or Senior Vice President (SVP) of Portfolio Management, focusing on the Financial Institutions and Insurance sectors. The position is an individual contributor responsible for financial analysis and preparing underwriting documents for complex, multimillion-dollar corporate credit requests. These requests aim to grow funded assets and the client base while maintaining asset quality within a moderate risk profile. Responsibilities include obtaining approval for new credit exposures (e.g., revolving credit facilities, term loans, leases, foreign exchange, derivatives) and amendments to existing ones. The role also involves ongoing credit monitoring, risk rating for a portfolio of corporate clients, negotiating and reviewing legal documentation, and assisting product partners with cross-selling. The SVP level often leads challenging underwritings and complex deals, potentially working independently with little junior staff support but providing guidance. The VP level may work somewhat independently or with other PMs, with a focus on participation in syndicated deals and fewer left lead opportunities. The role emphasizes a solutions-oriented, growth mindset while maintaining a moderate risk appetite and upholding asset quality. Experience underwriting credit for insurance companies, financial services companies, and/or other financial institutions is preferred. This position does not involve insurance policy underwriting.
