About The Position

Vice President Operations, Oil Search (Alaska) LLC, Anchorage, AK. Promote and lead in the implementation of company policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning. Ensure the operations of the organization are always compliant with all State and Federal regulations. Lead the development and integration of best-in-class Health, Safety, Environment, and Social (HSES) and crisis management training/processes/procedures across the Business Unit's (BU) operations and ensure that they are fully scalable. Lead effective planning, forecasting and budgeting processes and ensure that they are integrated with the strategic goals of the BU and aligned to the deliverables of the corporate plan. Develop rigorous capital expenditure authorization and Management of Change (MoC) procedure and closely monitor performance against budget. Maintain industry benchmarking data related to operational performance, Return on Capital Employed (ROCE), and cost reduction. Develop and implement a performance management process, setting appropriate KPI's and monitoring of performance against these. Ensure the implementation and development of the Safety Management System (SMS) and other corporate management systems. Drive the integration of schedules with key stakeholders across the BU to facilitate effective decision making and capture interdepartmental synergies. Drive the integrated resourcing forecasts as part of the work planning and budgeting process. Lead regular business reviews with the business unit leadership team and provide performance updates to EVP and the corporate executive team as required. Oversee the planning and execution of all drilling and completions operations, well maintenance/integrity and temporary civil infrastructure for the Company's assets in Alaska, which include exploration and appraisal drilling campaigns, during winter seasons on ice and/or from existing gravel infrastructure.40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary: $403,650.00/yr.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, and ten (10) years of post-bachelor's, progressive, related work experience.
  • Oil and gas industry with international E&P midcap
  • Leadership experience responsible for a complex multi-disciplinary region/organization
  • Drilling and completion practice specific to ERD drilling and multi-stage stimulation
  • Engineering and technical foundation from production operations, including: an understanding of subsurface and reservoir management
  • Commercial negotiations and agreements related to upstream development projects
  • Full lifecycle major capital development projects
  • Operational preparedness planning for start-up operations, such as in logistically challenging/harsh environments
  • Engineering disciplines' technological advances and best practices
  • Operating or budgetary management in excess of $200 million USD per annum.
