About The Position

The Vice President of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible to create operational excellence for the Company’s three manufacturing facilities. Build a sustainable competitive advantage by developing high performance teams. Ensure each plant team is driving toward zero injuries, zero defects and zero waste through strong operating innovation, disciplined processes, and employee engagement. Working with ownership and business functional leadership ensure that capabilities and go to market plans are aligned and balanced to achieve the lowest cost/highest value. Ensure that all external and internal standards are met or exceeded. This position is accountable for the management and oversight for Manufacturing, including plant management, the Environmental Health & Safety Function and the California Field Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in operations leadership roles, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operational functions successfully.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related advanced degree.
  • Experience working in a multinational or fast-growing company.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and data analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead digital transformation and operational innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Improve manufacturing / plant performance across all KPI’s and objectives, including: labor cost per case; budgeting process, quality, employee performance etc. and through the continued focus on key metrics and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and build upon a culture of continuous improvement and cost control. Provide leadership and coaching demonstrated by implementation of and compliance to effective and efficient work processes (i.e., use of processes and tools, leadership skills, and engagement leading to faster and more complete adoption).
  • Working with site management and functional leadership, drive manufacturing excellence and superior plant operations. Gain an in depth understanding of plant processes and behaviors through on site work with management at the facilities. Apply, facilitate, and teach functional and leadership skills.
  • Monitor plant compliance and performance. Working with functional staff (i.e., EH&S, Finance, Field Department, Human Resources, Supply Chain, etc.) ensuring adequate systems are in place to effectively manage and regularly review both internal and external factors impacting the business and permanently resolve issues
  • Provide leadership, coaching and resources to continually develop the operational and functional support personnel. Build a skill set within the plants by assessing and developing talent, setting and holding associates accountable to clear and achievable expectations. Working with our HR team to develop and execute on succession planning.
