About The Position

Reporting to the VP Advisor Services, the VP of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing Richardson Wealth's end-to-end operations strategy. This role drives operational excellence, scalability, and advisor & client service innovation, ensuring alignment with iA Wealth long-term growth objectives with a mandate to elevate the client & advisor experience, generate operational efficiencies and foster a positive and winning team culture. As a key partner to our Advisor teams, the Head of Operations will oversee the firm’s back-office and middle-office operational activities including technology, end-to-end processes and system integrations. In addition to ensuring day-to-day operational processes run smoothly and efficiently, this role focuses on streamlining operations and enhancing the client, advisor and employee experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant operations strategy and delivery experience in Wealth industry back-office or Operations practices.
  • Proven track record of implementing operational excellence through processes and systems optimization in Wealth Management.
  • Strong track record of inspiring and leading cross-functional teams to successful execution, advocating and leading staff through change
  • Ability to engage, influence and build strong relationships with external partners with commercial relationships
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of operational processes and controls including in depth knowledge of account opening and client onboarding, account transfers, fee billing and cash payments.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively by balancing various lenses – business, operations, design and technology
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with strong leadership, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative strategic thinker who is comfortable with change, ambiguity and challenges the status quo
  • Possess business acumen to analyze and generate insights from OKRs as well as foundational quantitative analytical skills to size business benefits
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while providing coaching and mentoring to teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Business, financial industry designations are an asset
  • Completed Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conducts & Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
  • Licensed as IR or RR with CIRO would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee relationships with key custodians and vendors, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and enhancing service delivery.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing processes, systems and client & advisor experience
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team to deliver consistent, high-quality support that Advisors and their teams can rely on.
  • Support the development and execution of operational controls to mitigate risk across team functions.
  • Serve as escalation point for operational issues and own timely resolution.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators to monitor and assess operational efficiency.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal teams to support seamless end-to-end experiences.
  • Support organization change by helping the team adopt new processes, technologies and operational updates.
