About The Position

The Vice President of Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s technology function, including IT and Broadcast Engineering. This role is responsible for managing and developing technology teams; ensuring systems reliability, security, and innovation; working collaboratively and effectively across the organization; and aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals. The VP of Technology fosters a collaborative, high-performing culture while delivering scalable, secure, and effective technology solutions. Compensation: $185,000 to $210,000 annually (depending on qualifications) in addition to company provided benefits. Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office a minimum of three days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science and/or related technical degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in technology, broadcast engineering, media technology, or IT infrastructure.
  • Experience managing complex technology ecosystems that include broadcast and digital media systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of new and traditional television broadcast equipment and systems (master control, newsroom automation, routers, asset management, non‑linear editing, networked storage).
  • Knowledge of IT networks, enterprise software platforms, switches, cloud technologies, and virtual machines.
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations and broadcast operations.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science and/or related technical degree.
  • SBE certification
  • Experience in installation and implementation of broadcast and IT systems.
  • Experience in public media, broadcasting, or nonprofit media organizations.
