About The Position

The Vice President of Logistics serves as a strategic executive leader responsible for overseeing King Aerospace’s end-to-end global supply chain, warehousing, inventory management, material handling, and transportation operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, the VP of Logistics will design, execute, and optimize scalable supply chain strategies to support complex aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) projects, defense programs, and quick-reaction field operations. Ensures King Kulture in the Supply Chain & Logistics team and builds a team who strives to make a positive difference daily while maintaining the King standard for exceptional conduct and character.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or a related field required.
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressive leadership experience in aviation/aerospace logistics, defense contracting, or MRO supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing strategies in an aviation heavy maintenance overhaul or manufacturing environment, for both government and commercial aviation environments.
  • Strong understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (FAR/DFARS) compliance, aviation industry supply chains, and government property management standards.
  • Ability to translate complex supply chain metrics into strategic insights for C-suite leadership and present data-backed proposals.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to foster seamless cross-functional collaboration between program management, procurement, and site technicians, while maintaining calm, decisive direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts in achieving organizational objectives.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills, as well as negotiating skills for supplier and carrier management.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment is essential.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability and knowledge to use a computer and related technology effectively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally in support of supply chain management and strategic initiatives.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain one required.
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WHS) tailored to aviation (e.g., SAP, Pentagon 2000, Ramco, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Lean Six Sigma certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive global logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with King Aerospace’s growth, operational targets, and profit goals.
  • Oversee material forecasting, procurement logistics, inventory staging, and distribution across domestic facilities and potential international deployment sites.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain throughput, order accuracy, inventory turns, and vendor compliance; provide data-driven reports on metrics to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Ensure consistent supply chain support for scheduled MRO, ISR modifications, and AOG (Aircraft On Ground) emergency requirements to minimize turnaround times.
  • Manage warehousing operations, kitting systems, hazardous material handling (HAZMAT), and reverse logistics.
  • Implement advanced inventory controls, continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma), and cycle counting programs across all site locations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain complete traceability and audit-readiness for military and government-contracted parts and property (DCMA/GFP rules).
  • Oversee secure supply chain protocols for sensitive military and defense hardware.
  • Drive carrier selection, freight negotiations, and third-party logistics (3PL) relationship management to optimize shipping speed and landed costs.
  • Partner with Procurement to monitor supplier performance, mitigate supply chain bottlenecks, and secure critical long-lead aviation components.
  • Travel regularly to support supply chain management efforts and logistics planning. (30% - 40%)
  • Perform other related duties based on experience, qualifications, and business needs.
