About The Position

The Vice President of Mission Innovation leads the Council's efforts to identify, develop, test, and scale new approaches that advance the Girl Scout mission, expand participation, and strengthen long-term organizational sustainability. As our Vice President of Mission Innovation, you will translate strategic challenges and emerging opportunities into new concepts, pilots, partnerships, and business models. The role applies a disciplined approach to innovation, using community and market insights, organizational data, experimentation, and financial analysis to determine which ideas should be tested, refined, scaled, integrated, or discontinued. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will build the pathway from idea to sustainable execution, establishing the business case and measures of success for promising concepts and working with functional leaders to transition successful innovations into organizational ownership. The role ensures innovation remains grounded in the Girl Scout model, while generating measurable mission, membership, and financial impact. The Vice President of Mission Innovation will champion change and evolution across the council, exploring opportunities across membership, girl experience, volunteerism, product programs, community programs, properties and outdoor experiences, technology and digital experience, partnerships, and mission-based revenue models. You will work collaboratively with Mission Design, Mission Delivery, Membership, Advancement, and other functions to develop pilots, evaluate results, and transition proven concepts into clear implementation plans, organizational ownership, and scalable delivery. You will use partnerships as a strategic accelerator for innovation and growth, leveraging existing relationships and developing new ones with organizations that provide capabilities, audiences, expertise, resources, or reach the Council cannot or should not build alone. In doing so, you will develop strategic relationships with schools, community organizations, businesses, funders, municipalities, and other partners to expand reach, access new audiences and resources, and create opportunities for innovative mission delivery. Being a member of Senior Leadership, you will develop and manage budgets for assigned programs and initiatives and ensures resources are deployed effectively in support of Council priorities. The VP will evaluate the financial sustainability and potential return on investment of new and existing initiatives and develops data-informed recommendations regarding continued investment, expansion, modification, integration, or discontinuation.
