About The Position

This role is accountable for the planning, development, and implementation of all marketing strategies, marketing technology tools, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. The position oversees the development and implementation of all support materials and services for the credit union in these areas. It directs the efforts of the marketing, communications, and public relations team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with other organizational functions. The role also oversees the strategy and deployment of all charitable giving and social mission related functions, including the Advia Foundation, nonprofit organization partnerships, and community sponsorships. This position aids in meeting the strategic goals of the credit union by providing outstanding service and living the core values: Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships, and Keep People at the Core.

Requirements

  • 10 years to 15 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A college degree.
  • Expert level of interpersonal and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various complicated written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic vision and leadership to managers and individual contributors by inspiring and building a high-performing team, maximizing productivity, efficiency, and innovation while staying connected to the credit union's strategic vision, mission, and goals.
  • Cultivates a learning environment that supports professional development, continuous skill building, and career growth.
  • Promotes collaboration and effective communication within the team and across departments.
  • Develops and manages the annual marketing and promotional budget associated with external advertising, market entry tactics, new member acquisition, and member engagement.
  • Contributes to the strategic development process, working with other senior leadership on the development and management of key scorecard initiatives and organizational updates.
  • Oversees the relationship management of marketing-related vendors, including media purchasing agencies, print vendors, and marketing technology vendors.
  • Oversees all new digital communication tactics, including social media engagement tools, SMS, push notifications, and digital banking ads.
  • Contributes to lead generation tactics through external partnerships and targets identified via internal systems.
  • Oversees the functions of the Advia Foundation in terms of setting strategy, fundraising, financial oversight, and deployment of annual charitable grants and scholarships.
  • Oversees key communications associated with mergers and acquisitions, partnering with leadership of newly acquired organizations.
  • Oversees the organization’s website content accuracy, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) development, and other health metrics (e.g., ADA compliance and Quality Assurance).
  • Achieves financial goals by establishing initiatives, developing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing the use of assets. Ensures continuing analysis to measure and improve services.
  • Leads the formulation, implementation, evaluation, and administration of the company's marketing and market development functions.
  • Maintains measurement results on major campaigns and reports results to the President and CEO.
  • Ensures effective communication of marketing programs to all team members.
  • Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues, providing information and commentary, and recommending options and courses of action.
  • Represents the financial institution at external functions.
  • Ensures that marketing promotions meet or exceed set goals.
  • Complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Follows policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines.
