The VP, Legal will report to the General Counsel in Montreal, with a dotted line to the COO in Phoenix, and will work in close partnership with the CEO, Head of HR, and VP of Employee Relations. Cogir operates in 11 states with more than 7,500 employees and continues to grow rapidly. This role will support the business across a broad range of legal matters, including contracting, HR-related issues, litigation and risk management, regulatory compliance, and general corporate matters. The VP, Legal will collaborate closely with HR leadership, operations, and the executive team to help manage risk, provide practical legal guidance, and support the company’s ongoing growth. SCOPE OF WORK (Approximate Allocation): 35% – Commercial and contract management 30% – HR legal support (employee relations, employment risk, policies) 15% – Litigation (arbitrations, class actions, settlements, defense strategies) 10% – Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (senior living & general compliance) 10% – Corporate and other matters
