About The Position

This position requires forward thinking leadership with deep exposure in healthcare risk management, alternative risk transfer strategies and captive insurance structures as well as strong ability to influence enterprise-wide decision making. Rogers Behavioral Health is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit provider of highly specialized psychiatric care. Rogers offers evidence-based treatment for children, teens, and adults with OCD and anxiety, addiction, depression and other mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and PTSD. Backed by more than a century of experience, Rogers is leading the way on measurement-based care and use of clinical outcomes. Rogers provides residential care and has three inpatient facilities located in southeastern Wisconsin. Rogers also offers outpatient services in a growing network of communities across the U.S. The System also includes Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation which supports patient care, programs, and research; and Rogers InHealth an initiative that works to eliminate the stigma of mental health challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance or business administration; advanced degree (JD, MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • 12-15+ years progressive experience in insurance, risk financing or corporate risk management with significant exposure in healthcare or complex institutional environments.
  • Proven track record in captive insurance company implementation and management.
  • Deep expertise in insurance markets, underwriting, actuarial principles and alternative risk financing structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex risk and financial concepts into strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership strategic direction for all institutional insurance and risk financing programs including property, casualty, professional liability, directors & officers, cyber and specialty coverages.
  • Lead the end-to-end development, formation and management of a captive insurance company including feasibility studies, actuarial analysis, domicile selection, capitalization, regulatory compliance and ongoing governance.
  • Develop and execute long term risk financing strategies including use of captives, reinsurance structures, alternative risk transfer mechanisms to optimize the total cost risk.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership on risk exposure, insurance strategy and financial implications.
  • Oversee and strengthen relationships with insurers, brokers, reinsurers, captive managers, actuaries and legal advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements across multi-state operations.
  • Partners cross functionally with finance, legal, compliance, operations and clinical leadership to identify, assess and mitigate emerging risks.
