About The Position

We are looking for a Vice President of Human Resources to join our team. This VP position provides strategic leadership and executive oversight of all human capital functions for HOC. This role ensures that HR strategy is fully aligned with the organization’s mission, values, regulatory environment, and growth objectives. The VP of HR is responsible for fostering a compassionate, high-performing, and compliant workforce while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team. This leader oversees the design, governance, and effectiveness of all HR operations, ensuring policies, practices, and culture support organizational excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior or executive-level roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, compliance, compensation strategy, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospice, home health, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership presence, judgment, and ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification required.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint with the ability to utilize these tools to support strategic human resources initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of aligning human capital initiatives with business objectives.
  • Strong communicator and trusted advisor capable of navigating complex organizational challenges.
  • Passion for fostering a values-driven, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, build executive credibility, and inspire teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospice, home health, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of HOC’s human capital strategy, ensuring alignment with mission, values, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, labor relations, and compliance risk management.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the HR department, establishing clear accountability, performance standards, and operational frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain HR governance structures, including compensation philosophy, policy oversight, and employee relations escalation protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospice-specific employment regulations.
  • Lead initiatives related to leadership development, succession planning, and culture building across the organization.
  • Oversee employee engagement, retention strategies, and organizational effectiveness programs.
  • Represent HR at executive and board level as appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, systems, and analytics to support operational and strategic objectives.
