About The Position

As a key member of Hartford HealthCare’s East Region executive leadership team, the Vice President of Human Resources serves as a strategic advisor and business partner, aligning talent strategies with organizational goals. The Vice President will translate business needs into actionable talent solutions that drive performance, engagement, and retention. The Vice President leads a team of Human Resources professionals that are embedded within the business and will collaborate closely with system-wide Centers of Excellence such as Colleague Relations, Learning & Organizational Development, and Total Rewards to implement enterprise strategies, ensure policy consistency, and foster a high-performing, engaged culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Ten plus of progressive Human Resources leadership is required
  • Experience in talent management, organizational design, employee relations, change management
  • Business, Financial, and Project Management skills
  • Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills as well as analytical and data driven skills
  • Is a systems thinker able to connect the dots, translate symptoms into themes, conceptualize solutions and bring ideas to life
  • Able to proactively engage leaders on issues & opportunities as well as influence key stakeholders to secure resources, commitment and support
  • Frames issues & opportunities with stakeholders in ways that help them look at things in a different light
  • Possess an unquenchable curiosity to surface insights to help leaders position and manage the business
  • Is a hands-on builder who is able to participate in any business discussion
  • Able to flex between the strategic & tactical, operate in shades of gray and work in the current state while building the future state
  • Challenges the status quo & conventional wisdom

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to identify key talent challenges and opportunities
  • Use data-driven insights to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives. Align annual HR goals with local and system-wide strategic plans
  • In partnership with system-wide Centers of Excellence locally lead workforce planning, succession management, and talent development initiatives. Collaborate with leaders on organizational design and change management efforts.
  • Enhance and operationalize talent processes to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent
  • Partner with Colleague Relations to ensure fair and consistent application of policies, policy interpretation, and performance management. Provide coaching and guidance to leaders
  • Promote a culture of engagement, accountability, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Work closely with system-wide Centers of Excellence to implement system-wide initiatives at the local level. Provide feedback and continuous improvement opportunities to ensure initiatives are successful. Ensure alignment and consistency in HR practices across the organization
