About The Position

The Vice President of Global Procurement is a high-impact executive role responsible for the strategic leadership, transformation, and execution of the company’s global sourcing and procurement functions. This role oversees a complex portfolio including raw materials (castings, forgings, bar, pipe, tubing) and a diverse finished goods distribution business involving over 100 manufacturers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • Master's Degree (MBA preferred)
  • 12+ years in procurement/supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global operations.
  • Mastery of advanced negotiation tactics. Ability to find "win-win" scenarios while remaining firm on corporate cost-saving objectives.
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets, and the impact of procurement on the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Experience navigating international business cultures, specifically in key manufacturing hubs (e.g., SE Asia, Europe, South America).
  • The ability to move a team from "reactive buying" to "proactive sourcing."
  • Proficient in using ERP data and BI tools to identify spend leakage and consolidation opportunities.

  • CPSM/CPCM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for raw materials and finished goods that balance cost, quality, and lead-time stability.
  • Lead the negotiation of enterprise-level master service agreements (MSAs).
  • Proactively renegotiate existing contracts to drive annual cost-reduction targets without sacrificing quality or supply security.
  • Manage a global base of 100+ manufacturers.
  • Implement a rigorous "Supplier Scorecard" system to evaluate performance and hold vendors accountable for delivery and cost-out initiatives.
  • Develop a Win/Win culture with our Strategic Partners.
  • Provide direct leadership to the HQ procurement team and functional oversight of decentralized buyers at satellite locations, ensuring a unified procurement strategy across the enterprise.
  • Partner with engineering and operations to identify "total cost of ownership" (TCO) reductions, such as material substitutions, logistics optimization, or volume consolidation.
  • Monitor global geopolitical trends, tariffs, and commodity market fluctuations (steel, alloys, etc.) to hedge against price volatility and supply disruptions.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and negotiations at domestic and international supplier locations (approx. 15–20% travel).
  • Set clear performance expectations, development objectives and accountability standards for personnel.
