About The Position

Roberts Hawaii, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Entertainment and Venue Management to provide senior leadership and strategic direction for its entertainment, food and beverage, and events operations, including Germaine’s Luau, Chief’s Luau, and Limelight. This role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, financial performance, and an exceptional guest experience across all venues. The Vice President will oversee fiscal management, develop sales and marketing strategies, drive business output and profitability, and manage the physical infrastructure of the venues. This position requires a strong understanding of the entertainment industry, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • BA degree (or equivalent work experience). Equivalent work experience is at least 10 years of executive-level experience in a large organization with annual revenue exceeding $20M.
  • At least 10 years of experience within the entertainment industry with general knowledge of music production, entertainment event planning and coordination, venue operations, music licensing, entertainment management, professional sound and lighting equipment, and entertainment/production contracts and terminology.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, have good listening skills, build strong relationships, be flexible/open-minded, negotiate effectively, solicit performance feedback, and handle constructive criticism.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, adapts to new technology, keeps abreast of changes, learns new programs quickly, and uses technology to improve productivity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher), and other platforms and processes related to events and food and beverage, such as Toast.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of audio-visual and sound systems, controls, and platforms such as Crestron, AMX, or similar, combined with expertise in lighting and sound programming using DMX, Dante, and other industry-standard protocols, enabling effective management and optimization of integrated systems, ensuring high-quality audio-visual experiences.
  • Keeps information organized and accessible, works systematically/efficiently, manages time well, promotes mutual respect, keeps workplace clean and safe, supports safety programs.
  • Recognizes problems and responds, systematically gathers information, sorts through complex issues, seeks input from others, and addresses the root cause of issues.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed, 24x7 availability dependent upon business needs, including holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and provide support and guidance to entertainment and venue leadership in accomplishing operational efficiency, productivity, and performance related to Germaine’s Luau, Chief’s Luau, Limelight, and all other lines of entertainment, food and beverage, and events.
  • Provides senior leadership ensuring successful coordination and management of resources and efficient implementation of all venues, entertainment, and F&B initiatives.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintains each venue in a positive financial position.
  • Establishes budget plans and effective metrics for all aspects relating to the Company’s entertainment activities and venues.
  • Provides direction on financial and workflow analysis, including strategizing on how to operate more efficiently, streamline workflow and communication, reduce costs, and adapt to new policies and procedures.
  • Manage RH venues and lines of entertainment to ensure profit targets are being met through conscientious management of expenses.
  • Use sales forecasting to ensure the sales and profitability of products and services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Development and orchestration of the sales and marketing strategies/plans for each of the Company’s venues and lines of entertainment, ensuring Roberts Hawaii successfully achieves sales objectives, goals, and revenues.
  • Ensure an innovative and strategic approach in developing and managing venues, constantly evolving and leveraging new tools and practices.
  • Direct the design, creation, planning, and implementation of the organization’s food and beverage services programs and functions, all to be aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company.
  • Operational oversight responsibility for all food and beverage services: program adherence, financial performance, guest and employee satisfaction, engagement results, and food safety.
  • Strategically and tactically drive business output and profitability: F&B sales, guest capacity and capture optimization, average check, and margin management.
  • Provide comprehensive guidance on entertainment venue logistics and operations, emphasizing the creation of an immersive guest experience through collaboration with each venue team on elements such as staging, lighting, sound, audiovisual systems, and special effects.
  • Responsible for general project management of the Company’s venues, acting as the central source of venue knowledge and insight.
  • Promote effective collaboration with operating departments, ensuring client satisfaction, efficient delivery of services, and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Ensure pertinent entertainment and venue permits and licenses are maintained and in compliance.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing Roberts Hawaii standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations and rules, and applicable government regulations for each venue.
  • Oversee all aspects of the physical infrastructure, from location cleanliness to building & equipment needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
