About The Position

Together, we build opportunity At Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, we bring people together to expand access to affordable homeownership and build stronger communities across Central Oregon. Since 1989, we have partnered with local families and individuals on their path to homeownership. We are seeking an experienced, collaborative Vice President of Construction to lead our development and construction work from land acquisition through home completion and warranty. This senior leadership role oversees our construction team, builds strong community partnerships and helps create a pipeline of financially viable, sustainable affordable homeownership opportunities.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of construction experience, including at least three years of property acquisition, development and permitting experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of affordable homeownership development and finance.
  • Experience working with brokers, real estate investors, community representatives, lenders and other development partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, contracts and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate information and clearly communicate findings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and construction
  • Lead land due diligence, acquisition and coordination with consultants, engineers and real estate professionals.
  • Oversee design, permitting, project schedules and construction from feasibility through certificate of occupancy and warranty.
  • Review project estimates, budgets and schedules and provide oversight of the full construction budget.
  • Ensure projects follow approved plans, specifications, regulations and established construction processes.
  • Provide support to the construction team in solving problems and keeping projects moving forward.
  • Oversee undeveloped properties, fleet management, warehouse operations and construction inventory.
  • Mentor and support the team - Lead, coach and develop project managers and construction team members.
  • Build strong partnerships - Develop productive relationships with public agencies, community partners and internal stakeholders.
