About The Position

The Vice President of Adult Services is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for leading one of the organization's largest and most impactful service divisions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and partnering closely with fellow executives, this leader will oversee a diverse portfolio of adult behavioral health, residential, substance use, and community-based programs. This role ensures operational excellence, financial sustainability, quality outcomes, and strategic growth across adult services. The Vice President will drive organizational priorities, strengthen community partnerships, develop future leaders, and help shape the long-term vision of Valley Behavioral Health.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related social services field
  • Five years of experience managing operations, budgets, and projects
  • Five years of leadership experience
  • Five years of managing behavioral health treatment programs
  • Fully-licensed in Social Work, Counseling, or related social services discipline required (LCSW, CMHC, LMFT, LPC)

  • Previous experience in community behavioral health

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative supervision and oversight to operations and clinical leaders
  • Travels on a regular basis to program locations to provide onsite direction and oversight
  • Coordinates with and train program leaders and supervisors to ensure that staff understand unit business/area plan and how each member of the team serves to ensure fulfillment
  • Ensures staff competency (new and ongoing) with technology, documentation requirements, and other required skills to fulfill their responsibilities relative to the business/area plan
  • Ensures adherence to program design and schedule
  • Ensures adherence to evidence-based or proven practices
  • Ensures adherence to state, county and accreditation standards
  • Develops periodic trainings to ensure proactive error reduction
  • Ensures effective and ongoing clinical supervision for all programs
  • Ensures the achievement of positive clinical outcomes in all programs
  • Ensures required minimum completion of periodic customer satisfaction surveys
  • Develops solid understanding of business/area plan and the critical elements for fulfillment
  • Works with the CEO to develop a business growth plan.
  • Conducts market analyses to determine sites for future growth.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with the agency’s financial leaders
  • Meets monthly to monitor area financials to ensure financial viability and performance within approved budget parameters
  • Monitors aggregate and individual productivity trends
  • Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPls) for staff
  • Works with marketing staff in the development and implementation of an area marketing plan
  • Works with the Regulatory and Oversight Department and Valley leadership to ensure compliance with all related and applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to grants, licensing, audits, property management
  • Maintains active presence in programs and engages the community
  • Communicates proactively with staff, peers, and supervisor
  • Understands and supports the vision of collaboration and partnership to resolve complex problems with urgency, creativity, and patience
  • Models professional behavior and builds a customer-focused, accountable, and supportive team culture
  • Participates in all opportunities offered for Leadership Development and coaching to ensure continuous growth and development for self and team
