About The Position

This is a senior leadership role combining accountability with recognized technical authority across municipal infrastructure. You will lead a portfolio spanning linear municipal infrastructure systems, including roadways, complete streets, water distribution, sanitary, and stormwater systems, from early planning and Class EA studies through detailed design and construction. You will be accountable for practice leadership, people development, project delivery, and financial performance, while remaining engaged in complex, high-profile assignments. Leading integrated teams across Ottawa and the GTHA, you will deliver infrastructure that improves community outcomes, resilience, and mobility, while working closely with our Land Development team to align municipal infrastructure delivery with development-driven projects. The role also plays a central part in scaling Egis’ municipal presence in the GTA through this coordinated approach.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario.
  • Extensive senior experience in municipal roadway and municipal infrastructure planning, design, and delivery.
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong technical foundation with demonstrated credibility in municipal engineering projects.
  • Established relationships with Ontario municipalities and public sector clients.
  • Solid understanding of consulting business fundamentals, including project delivery, financial performance, and profit and loss accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow Egis’ Municipal Engineering practice across Ontario, covering roads, complete streets, watermains, sanitary sewers, and stormwater systems.
  • Define and execute a clear practice strategy aligned with market opportunities, client needs, and organizational priorities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, integrated team across surface and underground infrastructure.
  • Develop leadership depth within the team, supporting succession and long-term growth of the practice.
  • Position the practice for future scale and specialization as the business grows.
  • Own practice-level financial performance, including growth, profitability, forecasting, and utilization.
  • Oversee delivery of a diverse municipal portfolio, ensuring quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure effective management of project risk, commercial performance, and contractual obligations across the practice.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and resource allocation aligned with pipeline and delivery needs.
  • Implement and maintain strong quality management practices across all assignments.
  • Lead and support teams in Ottawa and the GTA, ensuring alignment, performance, and collaboration.
  • Maintain visible leadership within the Markham office through regular staff engagement and monthly updates highlighting team growth, project wins, key milestones, and staff achievements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities and public sector clients across Ontario.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on integrated municipal infrastructure programs, including roadway and underground servicing.
  • Drive development of a sustainable project pipeline, including account management, pursuit strategy, and positioning for major opportunities.
  • Lead pursuits for municipal capital programs, including corridor reconstruction, utility renewal, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support major multidisciplinary projects, including LRT, BRT, and large-scale infrastructure programs, ensuring effective integration of municipal engineering within broader project delivery teams.
  • Represent Egis in industry forums and contribute to advancing municipal infrastructure practices across the market.
  • Serve as a project manager/technical leader across municipal engineering, spanning roadway and underground systems.
  • Provide direction on complex, integrated municipal projects.
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and project managers, strengthening technical capability and delivery quality.
  • Partner closely with the Land Development team to support coordinated growth in the GTA.
  • Foster strong internal collaboration to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions.
  • Align municipal and development-driven infrastructure efforts where opportunities overlap.
