About The Position

The Vice President, Marketing – Flag Football will lead the strategic development and execution of integrated marketing for a brand-new professional Flag Football league, building the marketing function and fan ecosystem from the ground up. This role carries clear accountability for establishing awareness, cultivating a loyal fan base, and shaping how fans understand and engage with the league, athletes, teams, competition and partners from day one. This leader will design and operationalize data-driven, multi-channel marketing strategies that translate business objectives into measurable outcomes—driving brand equity, audience growth, and long-term commercial value as the league launches and scales. This position sits at the center of both daily execution and long-term brand building in a startup-like environment, partnering closely with internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders including teams, athletes, sponsors, and media partners. This leader will build foundational marketing capabilities while overseeing multi-platform campaigns from concept through execution and analysis, ensuring consistency, creativity, and measurable performance across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on marketing executive who thrives in fast-paced, build-from-scratch environments, brings strong cross-functional leadership, and excels at creating differentiated brand stories that resonate with consumers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of integrated marketing experience across brand, media, content, communications, digital, social, and campaign marketing
  • Proven success building, scaling, and evolving brands through integrated, multi-platform marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing and partnering with agencies and external vendors to deliver high-impact creative and media outcomes
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into clear plans and hands-on execution
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing senior stakeholders, with the ability to clearly communicate strategy, creative direction, and results
  • Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging insights, analytics, and KPIs to optimize marketing performance and ROI
  • People-first leader with experience building, developing, and motivating high-performing marketing teams

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end marketing strategy for Pro Flag Football, building the function and playbook from the ground up with direct accountability for awareness, fan growth and engagement
  • Translate early-stage business goals into clear, actionable marketing plans, helping shape priorities during league build and launch phases
  • Define and establish brand positioning, voice, and narrative frameworks for a new league entering the market
  • Establish foundational growth targets across awareness, acquisition, retention, and engagement, with clear success metrics and reporting cadences from launch onward
  • Build and lead fully integrated marketing plans across paid, owned, and earned channels, establishing best practices and operating rhythms as the league scales
  • Build and evolve strategies that not only establish the fan base, but introduce and educate new audiences on the league, format, players, and storylines
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to support league, broadcast, sponsorship, and product initiatives
  • Serve as a strategic marketing voice in enterprise-level planning and decision-making
  • Lead agency partnerships by delivering clear briefs, performance expectations, and accountability structures
  • Ensure deliverables support company goals, on-brand and on time
  • Establish KPIs to measure brand health, fan growth, engagement, and campaign effectiveness, regularly reassessing effectiveness to inform future strategy
  • Leverage data and insights to optimize messaging, channels, and spend
