About The Position

The Vice President of Market Development leads Solari’s national market expansion efforts by developing strategic partnerships, cultivating executive relationships, and advancing growth opportunities across behavioral health and crisis services systems. Reporting to the Chief Brand and Development Officer, this role drives proactive market engagement, shapes opportunities prior to procurement, and strengthens Solari’s position as a national leader in crisis care and community-based services.

Requirements

  • Extensive understanding of behavioral health systems, crisis care models, and Medicaid-funded environments, including state and local funding structures.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and advancing strategic partnerships within public-sector healthcare and behavioral health ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain executive-level relationships with government leaders, healthcare organizations, and key system stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and shape opportunities in early stages, including engaging stakeholders prior to formal procurement.
  • Comfort operates in ambiguous, relationship-driven environments with the ability to initiate and advance opportunities without defined processes.
  • Executive presence and credibility in external settings, including public forums, stakeholder meetings, and industry convenings.
  • Strong market insight and strategic perspective on behavioral health and crisis system development, including emerging policy, funding, and delivery trends.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly build and maintain relationships in priority markets.
  • Ability to act professionally and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute proactive market development strategies that expand Solari’s national presence across crisis services, behavioral health, and human services sectors.
  • Build and maintain a multi-year opportunity pipeline aligned with organizational growth priorities, emerging market trends, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize high-potential markets, funding opportunities, and partnership models to support organizational expansion.
  • Shape and influence opportunities prior to formal procurement through strategic engagement with public sector leaders, healthcare organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Position Solari as a preferred strategic partner by cultivating early market awareness and executive-level relationships before competitive procurement processes begin.
  • Cultivate and maintain executive relationships with state behavioral health authorities, Medicaid agencies, managed care organizations, healthcare systems, provider networks, nonprofit organizations, and strategic partners.
  • Identify and develop strategic alliances that strengthen Solari’s service continuum and support integrated models of crisis care, care coordination, behavioral health access, and community-based services.
  • Represent Solari in national forums, conferences, industry associations, and policy discussions to strengthen organizational visibility, credibility, and thought leadership.
  • Serve as an external ambassador for Solari by promoting the organization’s mission, innovation, and expertise in crisis system transformation.
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state policy, procurement activity, funding opportunities, regulatory developments, and industry trends related to behavioral health, crisis response systems, and 988 infrastructure.
  • Provide strategic market intelligence and competitive insights into executive leadership to inform growth planning and investment decisions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic opportunities and support go/no-go decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy discussions regarding market positioning, expansion opportunities, and emerging service models.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Proposal teams to transition qualified opportunities into formal pursuit and procurement processes.
  • Partner with operational, clinical, technology, and finance leaders to ensure market strategies align with organizational capabilities, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Support alignment between market development efforts and Solari’s broader brand, communications, advocacy, and thought leadership strategies.
