About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York to design and implement critical systems for electronic real-time trade reporting in North America. This role involves leading communication with business owners, building and testing the electronic trading system to support business growth, and managing robust messaging middleware/tooling. The position will also focus on improving the software development life cycle process (e.g., code review, TDD, DevOps), driving technical renovation globally to enhance trade reporting system observability and AI integration, providing support and training for the development team, and offering on-site production IT environment support. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s in Engineering (any), or a related field.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Vice President, Associate, or a related technical occupation.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with C++.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Java.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Python.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with SQL.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with JSON.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Git.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Linux.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Object Oriented Design.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Data Structure.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Requires three (3) years of experience working in a Financial Services Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement critical systems for electronic real-time trade reporting in North America.
  • Lead effort to communicate with business owners.
  • Build and test the electronic trading system to support business growth in North America and other regions.
  • Manage robust messaging middleware/tooling.
  • Improve the software development life cycle process (e.g. code review/TDD/DevOps).
  • Drive technical renovation globally to improve trade reporting system observability and AI integration.
  • Provide the required support and training as the development team grows.
  • Provide on-site production IT environment support.
