About The Position

The Equity Group, a subsidiary of Ruder Finn, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Investor Relations professional with familiarity in the tech or industrials sector to join its firm as a Vice President. This role involves working closely with an SVP to develop and execute strategic IR programs for public and going-public client companies. The position offers meaningful growth over time and requires candidates to be based in the New York metropolitan area.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of public company investor relations experience (can include being employed by an investor relations firm and/or working in internal IR for a publicly traded company). Years spent working in sell-side equity research can be included, but the candidate must have direct IR work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or related discipline preferred.
  • Understanding/interest in finance and the capital markets.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and understand businesses in different industries.
  • Strong writing skills, including experience writing financially-oriented news releases and presentations.
  • Experience and comfort interfacing with CEOs and CFOs.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills.
  • Capacity and interest in working in a team environment, while also being proactive and self-motivated, and able to work well independently.
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Adept at Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be based in the New York metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategic investor relations programs for a group of clients.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients’ senior management teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining strong knowledge of clients’ businesses, financials, and markets/peers.
  • Drafting and editing clients’ quarterly earnings news releases, conference call scripts, and Q&A prep memos, as well as other corporate announcements and letters to shareholders.
  • Developing and editing PowerPoint investor presentations, investor factsheets and IR website content.
  • Developing and managing relationships with clients’ current investors and analysts and interacting with them to discuss client developments.
  • Introducing clients’ stories to new investors and analysts to build awareness and interest, address questions, and arrange meetings/calls with client management teams.
  • Interacting regularly with client management teams to provide counsel.
  • Developing and managing client IR plans and calendars.
  • Supervising additional work being done by other members of your team.
  • Reporting to clients on activities.
