About The Position

GDIT's Contracts and Acquisition Management Office (CAMO) is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Contracts to lead the Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) Division. This strategic leader will bring advanced expertise in Federal Government contracting and a demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value portfolios. As the leader of a high-performing organization of more than 30 professionals, the successful candidate will exhibit collaborative and strategic leadership skills, driving operational excellence across a diverse team. In addition to federal contracting knowledge, extensive experience in Intelligence and Homeland Security contracts management is required. This role is a key member of the IHS leadership team and reports directly to GDIT’s Vice President of Contracts. The position is based at GDIT's McLearen office, located in Herndon, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in business, law or similar discipline preferred
  • 20+ years of experience years of government contracts experience
  • 15+ years of strategic involvement in industry; demonstrable knowledge of Intelligence and Homeland Security Community agency needs; deep understanding and experience in contracting terms & conditions specific to Intelligence and Homeland Securities agencies
  • FAR and DFAR regulations; SOX Compliance, Oracle and Salesforce
  • Must currently have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance to start and POLY eligible
  • US citizenship required
  • Cradle to grave contracts experience in an IT Services organization serving Federal Customers, especially, those in the Intelligence and Homeland Security communities

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end negotiation of contract terms from proposal stage through program close-out, ensuring strict compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies
  • Champion and seek out strategic opportunities to grow existing contracts and shape future opportunities in line with the rapid pace of technological advancements and tailor them to specific agency needs
  • Coordinate risk mitigation strategies and approvals with senior management and executive leadership to achieve timely and effective outcomes
  • Provide daily counsel, interpretation, and strategic advice on contracts and acquisition requirements to business leaders and stakeholders
  • Serve as a key member of proposal teams, shaping pricing and scheduling strategies, aligning requirements, and conducting thorough risk assessments
  • Leverage a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to navigating federal markets and assessing their impact on business operations
  • Participate in program reviews, executive briefings, and customer engagements to ensure contractual integrity and strategic alignment
  • Engage with agency contracting executives to build and strengthen relationships that drive collaboration and business growth
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of 30+ contracting professionals, with 3 direct reports
  • Strategically advance the contracts support to the business through the incorporation of AI and process/policy enhancements
