About The Position

As the Vice President, Global Product Management you set the long-term vision and strategy for our Women’s, Hardgoods and Accessories product categories. You provide strategic and operational leadership in overseeing a team of senior leaders, accountable for driving the creation, development and execution of a global assortment and line plan strategy that grows the brand through our design vision while delivering best in class sales, inventory and margin results. You play a central role in building the strategies and tactics to accelerate our Women’s, Hardgoods, and Accessories business globally. You are an inspiring leader that communicates compelling, consumer-centric product framework plans that are realized through product operations and merchandising execution. Your global merchandising strategy establishes Arc’teryx as a world class retailer and guides the representation of our product experience through all channels. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. The Product Line Management (PLM) team is responsible for determining and delivering the right product, at the right place, at the right time. In partnership with the Merchant team, PLM delivers product lines that supports the overall Design creative direction, while driving company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals, on a global scale. This high performing team works closely with the Design and Product Creation Development teams to bring the product vision to life through future seasonal line plans, and partners with the Costing and Sourcing teams on the upstream side of the product cycle.

Requirements

  • A degree and 15+ years’ experience in merchandising with product-led brands
  • 10+ years’ experience leading a team
  • Product-obsessed, with a drive for understanding the “why” behind new products, and an unparalleled capacity for product knowledge, with a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process
  • Expertise in driving strategy, line planning and line architecture
  • A proven track record in developing and leading the execution of a multi-year business strategy and collaborating with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
  • Influential leader; possessing high emotional intelligence, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional groups at all levels of the business
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to lead in a complex matrix business environment
  • Proven people leadership skills and the ability to build, coach and guide a diverse and high performing team
  • Tireless integrity in driving excellence to milestones and deliverables
  • Strong understanding of outdoor apparel marketplace

Responsibilities

  • Setting the long term vision and merchandising strategies for our Women’s, Hardgoods & Accessories product categories
  • Overseeing a team of product management leaders who lead their teams in executing the global strategy for their product categories; who plan for long term glide path, seasonal line plans and monthly flow to all channels
  • Leading the creation of a global product framework and assortment structure that guides merchant execution within retail stores, ecommerce channels and wholesale in order to maximize sales, profit and global brand positioning
  • Overseeing product lifecycle and go to market process of all product categories through effective teamwork and partnership with all Product, Supply Chain, and Finance teams
  • Partnering closely with cross-functional partners in Brand Marketing, Digital, Retail and Commercial teams to ensure our creative vision and merchandising strategies are coming to life with the guest

  • Creating and leading execution of multi-year business strategies
  • Contributing to holistic business evolution and serving as an influential senior leadership voice on our women’s strategy globally
