About The Position

TPI Composites, a trusted, long-term manufacturing partner to the global wind energy market, provides high-quality, cost-effective composite wind blades backed by advanced manufacturing capabilities and our proprietary, AI driven BladeAssure™ validation platform. TPI is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, operates factories in the U.S. and Mexico and has an engineering development center in Denmark with global service operations in the U.S., Mexico, and EU. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President, Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability provides strategic direction and leadership for TPI’s environmental, health & safety programs. The incumbent is responsible for the continuous development and effective implementation of Safety Policies and Procedures. In addition, the incumbent leads the company’s sustainability program. He/she leads a team of safety professionals to drive and ensure a proactive safety culture across the organization as well as best in class sustainability practices. Key stakeholders include regional business leaders, customers as well as the Senior Leadership team at TPI.

Requirements

Bachelor's Engineering Degree in risk management, industrial Safety and Health, Safety engineering, Safety management, or closely related field
10-15 years’ leadership experience in regional or global manufacturing environment
Knowledge and expertise in safety requirements in international locations (Americas and Europe)
Proven ability to lead diverse safety teams to achieve organizational objectives
Experience in the interpretation and enactment of Safety standards in OSHA and other global regulations
Demonstrated ability to establish, implement, and manage best practice environmental, health & safety programs
Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001/18001 implementation and program sustainability
Ability to lead in a matrix environment
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
Highly effective presentation and training delivery skills
Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility and lead by influence across all levels of the organization, from senior leadership to individual contributors
Build an effective team committed to organizational goals; foster collaboration among team members.
Solution oriented, proactive approach and attitude in resolving issues without compromising quality
Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills
15+ Years Management/Supervision Experience
Leadership experience in global manufacturing operations required

Responsibilities

Drive a proactive safety culture across the organization
Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide environmental, health & safety strategy and programs consistent with industry best practices
Define short and long term objectives to achieve company safety and sustainability goals and implement KPI’s, monthly reporting and business reviews to communicate progress
Assess and drive implementation of optimal health & safety organizational structure, tools, training, programs, governance, and accountability models
Leads efforts of safety organization through matrix leadership
Provide technical expertise and thought leadership, create synergies and leverage knowledge, personnel, best practices, and resources across the organization
Support the company’s US Worker’s Compensation Program effectively. This includes a focus on effective case management, return-to-work programs, and similar relative to work related illness and injuries.
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards
Monitor and facilitate the progress of environmental sustainability programs and governance systems, consistent with strategies, goals, measurements and reporting standards
Lead the organization to behave with a sense of urgency, ensure that it is aligned and attracts the best talent
Coordinate the executive level engagement between regions, customers and senior stakeholders
Leverage synergies across various sites and participates/leads in sharing best practices
Coach and mentor supply chain professionals across the organization
Create and promote a culture of collaboration, team-work and fun while delivering to or exceeding expectations
