About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and talented VP of Global Business Planning to join our team. In this role, you will lead the company’s global demand planning, sell in and sell through forecasting, and business planning strategy across all channels. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor, strategic leadership, and operational excellence with a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. As a member of the Finance & Operations team, you will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Supply Chain and report directly to SVP of Finance & Operations. This role is classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standard Act’s overtime requirement and is open to candidates based in LA. While the position is primarily remote, it follows a hybrid schedule requiring occasional in-person work at Culver City, CA 90230. This role requires working in PST hours, so candidates located on the West Coast are preferred. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace free from significant distractions are essential for remote work.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, business planning, sales planning, or supply chain leadership roles
  • Significant experience leading global forecasting and demand planning functions within beauty, cosmetics, consumer goods, or related industries
  • Strong understanding of wholesale, retail, and DTC business models
  • Beauty industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly with Sephora and prestige retail environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing planning teams
  • Exceptional analytical, financial, and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Advanced expertise in forecasting, inventory planning, and sell-in/sell-through analysis
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including complex modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Anaplan, Power BI, or related BI/reporting tools
  • Ability to influence executive leadership and drive alignment across multiple functions and global regions
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the global end-to-end demand planning function across all channels
  • Develop, manage, and continuously refine short-term, mid-range, and long-term forecasts to support revenue objectives, inventory optimization, and operational readiness
  • Lead global revenue planning across wholesale and retail, translating brand strategy into annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and account-level financial plans
  • Build and maintain detailed SKU-, retailer-, and channel-level forecasts; analyze performance against actuals, prior year, and targets to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
  • Establish and deliver comprehensive sell-through reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc) with actionable insights for executive leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Oversee demand planning processes while elevating planning standards, tools, and organizational capabilities
  • Lead monthly regional consensus forecasting meetings, aligning Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Finance on demand assumptions, inventory readiness, and growth priorities
  • Drive forecast accuracy improvements while reducing excess and obsolete inventory exposure
  • Partner closely with the SVP of Finance & Operations and Commercial leadership to ensure budgeted sales, margin, and inventory targets are achieved
  • Lead scenario planning and forecasting for innovation launches and NPD, incorporating cannibalization, halo effects, promotional activity, and retailer support strategies
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on business investments, inventory strategies, assortment optimization, and commercial effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities and risks across channels, categories, regions, and retailers while proactively recommending mitigation plans and growth initiatives
  • Partner with Sales to improve performance and maximize productivity across key retail partners, including Sephora
  • Act as the primary interface between Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and Marketing throughout the S&OP process
  • Facilitate executive demand review meetings to ensure alignment on forecasts, inventory, launches, and operational priorities
  • Partner with Product Development and Marketing teams to integrate pipeline visibility, launch timing, and market share assumptions into forecasts
  • Lead and maintain productive assortments across accounts; oversee product lifecycle planning, new product forecasting, and master SKU management
  • Oversee forecasting and management of all sales reductions, including promotions, RTVs, markdowns, and T&Ds
  • Partner directly with retail accounts to manage replenishment strategies, order flow, inventory levels, and open-to-buy discussions
  • Proactively communicate inventory risks, SKU changes, and out-of-stock issues to internal teams and retailers to support optimal fulfillment and sell-through
  • Serve as the executive lead for forecasting systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence enhancements
  • Partner with IT and Operations teams to improve forecasting automation, reporting accuracy, and visibility across the organization
  • Establish scalable planning processes, KPIs, and reporting standards to support global business growth
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting methodologies, inventory planning, and commercial analytics
  • Assist with special projects or initiatives as needed to support departmental goals.
  • Provide backup coverage for team members during absences or peak workload periods.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks or clerical duties as assigned.
  • Support cross-departmental efforts or collaborative initiatives when required.
