About The Position

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Conduct accounting services for assigned clients and complex funds, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports. Lead and review the work of junior team members for assigned clients or funds, providing input into methodologies and checking complex work. Drive service improvement plans, target efficiencies, enhance processes, and perform specialist review functions within Fund/Client Accounting. Provide guidance and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or atypical transactions; resolve the most complex reconciliations. Draft client reports on the performance of highly complex funds and provide guidance on report structure. Regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve multifaceted issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes. Evaluate GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 7–10 years of total work experience preferred, with demonstrated expertise in fund/client accounting for complex funds and accounts
  • Experience conducting cash and asset reconciliations, resolving complex or atypical transactions, and reviewing work of junior team members
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS with the ability to assess regulatory changes and their impact on accounting practices
