About The Position

This individual will be responsible for the leadership of the Electronic Product Engineering group consisting of Lithium Battery development, Battery Charger development (including Power Management development) and Software development. They will be responsible for delivery of solutions for a wide range of energy storage and energy management needs including Military, Motive Power, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Network Power and Transportation applications. They will also be required to continuously develop the engineering teams within their organization to effectively and efficiently meet any needs in these markets including refining the engineering operational structure and institution of standardized product development and delivery processes. Finally, they will be required to report to higher level leadership teams on progress in their area of responsibility. This position requires you to be on-site daily in our Alpharetta, GA, facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical related field required; Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • 15+ years of previous Product Development, Engineering Leadership and Project Management experience is required.
  • Previous experience in developing and launching products is required.
  • Challenges the status quo, act as a change agent to drive results and measurable improvements.
  • Strong organization, analytical, time-management and communication skills.
  • Outstanding Leadership: Ability to influence leaders and cross functional peers to drive results as well as driving engineering teams to efficiently overcome issues with defined processes such as design of experiment, etc.
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills
  • Ability to handle conflict management.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to be efficient and productive while working independent of direct supervision
  • Product delivery experience is a must as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • MS Office skills especially, MS-Project, Word, Power Point, Visio, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and Methodologies, especially Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA in related field preferred
  • Previous cross-functional experience in Manufacturing and Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives delivery of new products in line with business needs and the strategic business plan.
  • Drives delivery of Engineering designs for Engineer to Order customer solutions.
  • Responsible for departmental budget planning and execution of spending to budget to achieve business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to help define new product opportunities and develop market-aligned products focusing on manufacturing feasibility and cost.
  • Effectively communicate to higher level leadership team on status of projects and product developments.
  • Develop, Deploy and Manage Standardized Design Processes
  • Conduct post-mortem analysis of closed projects and adopt best practices and lessons learned.
  • Lead and monitor resolution efforts on complex issues where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Develop relationships with local plant teams, functional leaders, VPs, etc. to ensure smooth progression of projects and initiatives.
