About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Energy Program Management to work out of our office in Arlington, VA. In this position, you will be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team focused on energy resiliency, nuclear power, and facilities engineering while being a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. The position will primarily focus on executing AE services for federal clients focused on the development of nuclear technologies powering Department of War installations. Projects are anticipated to have a broad range of engagement from site assessment and characterization through engineering and architectural services. Work may be performed directly to the DOW, a construction contractor, or to a nuclear OEM provider. While this segment of the market matures, a fundamental need of the position is developing relationships across segments of the market while building a team and technical ability to deliver the vast services necessary to deliver new nuclear projects. The position will work with operations and delivery leaders across all sectors, as well as with regional and national leadership, to position WSP as the preferred and trusted choice for clients and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related degree.
  • Minimum 12+ years of successful experience proposing on, negotiating fee proposals, and delivering Architectural & Engineering (AE) planning, design, and AE construction-phase oversight services on projects under U.S. Department of War contracts.
  • 7+ years' experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering/architectural teams.
  • Professional registration US licensed Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge and overall understanding of Navy, Army, and Air Force clients; US contracting industry; knowledge of Federal budgeting, industry business drivers and motivators.
  • Experience leading strategy and marketing for Federal acquisitions; demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and a variety of stakeholders, and in developing and executing strategies to deliver business results,
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of servicing client needs and effective program planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing large and complex opportunities and pursuits, as well as smaller task orders.
  • Strong business development skills with attention to win strategies and differentiators to support Client Account Sponsors, Leads, and/or Managers, as needed.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate and under limited time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business in a new and emerging nuclear market with the DOW.
  • Establish relationships with key industry partners to execute challenging projects or the program management across a large number of projects.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to the DOW in the development and planning of new nuclear.
  • Engage in the development of new team members necessary for the expansion of services to meet market needs.
  • Expand capabilities and relationships to support commercial space projects.
  • Guides multi-discipline teams in making informed technical decisions.
  • Provides resource loading and oversees talent engagement.
  • Fosters innovation and technical excellence of teams.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes and coordinates with Project Delivery Leader and Director of Federal Property and Buildings to implement them.
  • Assists Client Account Sponsors, Leads, and/or Managers with Client management and satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with staff in other WSP Sectors, Regions, and National and Regional leadership with a focus on a ‘one-WSP’ delivery mindset.
